My Story

I was born in a small town in rural south Alabama in 1967 and didn't move away from my home state until the early 90's. I worked my way through college and grad school as a waitress and bartender, earning a BS in Psychology (no pun intended), and a Master's Degree in contemporary American poetry. I taught college for a while, and then spent several years working for a fortune 500 company in San Francisco. Eventually I landed in a small bayside town surrounded by redwoods on the Pacific Northwest coast of Northern California, my home for the past 12 years. I live with my beautiful husband and our two cats, Sunshine and Kona.

I started my herbal business, Humboldt Herbals, in 1998. I have a wonderful staff that runs the shop, allowing me the opportunity to enjoy a busy and delightful private practice. I teach classes and workshops on Angels and herbal medicine, and am a partner in AngelPlay®, makers of angel-infused sea crystal bath soaks and spiritual retreat facilitators.

My influences and teachers over the past 40-plus years are many and varied, and include psychologists, philosophers, writers, poets, revolutionaries, scientists, naturalists, psychic intuitives, metaphysicians, herbalists, plant spirits, fairies and angels, and the people that I meet each day.

I love any activities that involve water or mountains, and we manage to travel to warm tropical waters each year to snorkel and scuba dive. I read voraciously, mostly fiction and spiritual topics. I love Oprah, American Idol, and Top Chef, independent movies, anything Disney, and things that make me laugh.

But, this is not my story. My story is in the present moment of each day, and I make it up as I go along. In the moment that I'm writing this, my story is that I'm thrilled to live in this place and this time. I am deeply grateful and satisfied that my work and service is to help empower souls to live their best lives, in alignment with their Truth. I love knowing that all things are conspiring to work in my best interest - this is my mantra. My story is that I live and love deeply. I play and delight in the delicious abundance that surrounds me. I delight in YOU and the complex simplicity of it all. Here's to dancing in the world of form!
